VIDEO GAME INDUSTRY RELEASES- BS DOCUMENTS TO BLAME SAG/AFTRA, FOR THE STRIKE.

From PR Newswire:
Video Game Companies today released copies of the Companies' and the Union's last proposals which show that the Companies matched SAG-AFTRA's requests for wages, benefits, and additional compensation before the Union called its strike. The documents also show that the Companies and the Union had reached agreement to collaboratively investigate vocal stress issues during the term of the next contract.
"These proposals exchanged across the table prove the Companies and SAG-AFTRA have largely agreed on the significant issues before us except for the label we have placed on the 'Additional Compensation,' which would be paid above and beyond our proposed 9% pay increase," said Scott J. Witlin of the law firm of Barnes & Thornburg, the chief negotiator for the Video Game Companies. "The documents also demonstrate that the Companies value performers and reached agreement with the Union on the issue of vocal stress."
Witlin reiterated that the Companies have been impressed by the research presented by SAG-AFTRA into the issue of vocal stress. The Companies attempted to address the concerns raised by the SAG-AFTRA bargaining committee during negotiations by offering performers innovative working arrangements including split sessions and multiple performer sessions, but those proposals were rejected by SAG-AFTRA leaders.
"Among their proposals, the Companies offered to split a 4-hour recording session into two, two-hour portions with the second session to be performed within five days of the first session to ease the stress on performers, but this and other offers were rejected by SAG-AFTRA. This is an area that the parties have agreed to continue to collaboratively investigate during the term of the next contract. Exploring ways to further improve working conditions is something both sides should be committed to," Witlin added.
The Video Game Companies released a chart and supporting documentation from both the Companies and SAG-AFTRA to demonstrate that the Companies' final proposal to SAG-AFTRA is almost identical to the Union's proposal.
The chart validates the Companies' position that they have substantially met SAG-AFTRA's last proposal, including the topic of workplace safety. There is nearly no difference between the Companies' final proposal and the Union's proposal. The wages, additional compensation, pension and health contributions, vocal stress, stunt coordination, and transparency proposals are almost identical as summarized below:
9 Percent Wage Hike
The Companies exceeded the Union's request for a 3% raise over each of the next three years by Companiesoffering a 9 percent up-front increase, but only if a new agreement is ratified by December 1.
Additional Compensation
In the Companies' final proposal, the Companies increased the maximum amount of Additional Compensation to match the amount of the Union's request for a 'contingent' compensation buy out of up to $950. While the Companies have held to their position that there will be no 'contingent' compensation, the Companies have proposed a schedule of "Additional Compensation" that largely matches SAG-AFTRA's last demand, including the total aggregated figure and the number of sessions necessary to earn that amount. This offer, too, must be ratified by December 1 to become effective.
Pension and Health Contributions
The Companies agreed to the Union's request for a 0.5% increase and have agreed in principal regarding which of the benefit plans the money should be directed to.
Vocal Stress Issues
After the Union rejected the Companies' proposals concerning modifying voice over sessions to mitigate any risk of vocal stress, the parties agreed on forming a joint cooperative committee to study vocal stress issues.
Stunt Coordination
The expired Interactive Media Agreement between the Companies and SAG-AFTRA already provides for a stunt coordinator to be on site for sessions that include stunts. While SAG-AFTRA made no new proposals in this area, it did seek further clarification about the use of stunt coordinators and both sides agreed to continue those discussions through the cooperative committee during the term of the new agreement.
Transparency
The Union's proposal requested additional up front information when booking performers in video games to know more information (game title name, new role or a reprise of a previous role). The Companies enhanced their proposal to agree to provide the code name of the project and whether the performer will be asked to reprise a previous role. While SAG-AFTRA contends that the video game industry is the only industry not to require an employer to reveal the name of the project on which a performer is working, SAG-AFTRA has no such requirement in Television, Theatrical Motion Pictures or Animation agreements.
Summary
Except for the label on the Companies' 'Additional Compensation' proposal, there are no significant material differences between the Companies' final proposal and the Union's last proposal. The wages, additional compensation, pension and health contributions, vocal stress, stunt coordination, and transparency proposals are almost identical.
"The Union negotiating committee's continued public positioning of workplace safety as a rationale for striking these pro-Union Companies is disingenuous and paternalistic," Witlin said. "SAG-AFTRA should allow its affected members to vote on the Companies' final proposal and determine for themselves whether the semantic difference that does exist between 'additional compensation' and 'residual' is worth the costs of a strike."

OLD SCHOOL VIDEO ARCADE, THROWS DJ MUSIC MIX JAM.

-- After three epic nights of bold performances, the Doritos #MixArcade officially closed E3 with a Throwback Thursday show featuring DJ Jazzy Jeff and Mix Master Mike. The Doritos #MixArcade events combined the influences of technology, gaming and music into one bold, 60-foot working arcade venue.
"Doritos is a brand that believes in living life to the fullest and embracing bold experiences," said Jeannie Cho, VP of marketing, Frito-Lay. "We were honored to combine our heritage of gaming with music in the Doritos #MixArcade at E3 Live, once again putting control in the hands of fans. The gaming and music communities have long been partners on the small screen – now we've brought them together on the big screen."
The evening concerts at the Doritos #MixArcade not only held exclusive performances but also gave control over to the fans once again for an interactive concert experience. Show-goers donned bracelets that controlled different aspects of the performances.
But that's not all. On Tuesday the #MixArcade was home to performances by Steve Aoki and Empire of the Sun and Wednesday hosted shows by Wiz Khalifa and Big Boi of OutKast fame.

World Records Set at #MixArcade
In celebration of Doritos' 50th anniversary and a continuation of the brand's "For the Bold" campaign, the Doritos brand also hosted a series of challenges as part of its Doritos Bold 50 campaign at the Doritos #MixArcade, including: "World's Largest Game of Video Arcade Tag" and "Highest Score on a 60-Foot Tall Arcade Machine." The Doritos #MixArcade venue alone broke records for "World's Largest Live-Action Arcade Game," and "World's Largest Arcade Machine." The campaign asks fans worldwide to be a part of 50 world-record-attempts with Doritos through 2016.

EXPOSE: WHAT DO YOU DO, WITH ONLY AN HOUR TO EXPLORE WONDERCON? NOT MUCH.

The calm and professional Asian Lady, approved my press pass. She told me I only have an hour, since its the last day. Also, that despite nearly 650,000 hits last year, my site barely made the cut for a pass.

First, I go upstairs and realized all the live chat rooms have finished. I made my way, to the South hall of the LA Convention Center. I get a free comic book, with four mini stories that go nowhere. I walk through "Artists' Alley" to the only exciting place on the whole floor-the video game arcade area.

I stopped and played Resident Evil X (I can't remember which number.) I pick a cop role and shoot zombies in the head, in a stage called "Urban Chaos." My avatar doesn't die, but I don't complete the area for not killing enough zombies. I quit and then played Mega Man 6.

It thought this would be nostalgic, but it made me remember all the things I hated- about this series. Like, why are there No mega woman villains? Hello, schlocky controls of Mega Man. I get to the villain of stage and step too far over and I'm back five screens where I was. I then ask a lady worker, about an Umbrella Corps-another Zombie survival game made as Unreal- Tournament.

I then hit the Nintendo area, where the lines for the new Star Fox was endless, including cockpit versions. I then decided to play the new DS Metroid game: Federation Force. Its look and controls are similar to Metroid: Prime.

Sadly, I was stuck at a snow-base, trying repeatedly -to pass a huge grey door, which when you finally figure out how to open it, you have to hurry before it closes. When you find the door, it's closed again, and you get attacked a small squad of aliens, which are easy to take out at a distance.

After this, I go to the Capcom area- which has a entire wall of the hit game, Street Fighter 5, complete with arcade style controls. With time running out, this white guy and I stepped up, to one of the machines in the middle. We decide to the control women, and have Chun Li and Cammy partake- in a karate cat fight.

Except, after choosing the arena, the game won't start. We both tried our controls several times to start it up...Nothing. We even ask the one of the workers, dressed as a Lynda Carter era Wonder Woman. After ogling her, she realized she couldn't help. I thank her, and she acknowledges it.

After that, a lady announcer tells everybody to leave. I check my watch and realize- I have five minutes left.

I find a chat room (near the snack bar) about Star Trek V. Star Wars: led by a Kevin Smith look-a-like, doing a talk show with a hand-held mike. He discussed with a bunch of experts about why "the USS Defiant led by Admiral Akbar" would "kick the ass of a star destroyer" led by Han Solo or something. It was a weirdly intriguing and creative debate. The panel was both- witty and surprisingly knowledgeable, about their subject matter. Donald Trump could learn a thing or three here.

CELEBRITY HOMOPHOBIA: KEVIN CONNOLLY AND ADRIAN "MONK" GRENIER.

From the famous Family Arcade,in Los Angeles,CA., Near LACC. Circa 2004-5. Night.

The evil, dynamic duo is playing the then-new hit game, Ghost Squad. Our STRAIGHT man is there- to observed the celebrities- there playing the cabin mission, on the game. Accordingly to one random guy there, hasn't been this level of excitement, since the opening credits of defunct TV magazine show, X-Play had been filmed there.

Our contact is just watching them play, when E (who he doesn't even know) calls over to him and says:

Kevin Connolly: "I think you're a fag."

Nobody else in the crowd responds. Then, Vincent chase, with a smile then states:

Adrian Grenier: "I Agree."

Since no one sure who was being attacked, every one just looked confused and left. Our contact never watched Entourage again. The contact was quite pleased nothing good has happened with Grenier's career, as of late. Unfortunately, Connolly continues to work in hits, like John Q, and He's just not into you, which he never was.

2014. Universal Studios, Hollywood. Night. Late Winter.

Our same STRAIGHT man contact, is coming back from a free belated birthday cake, from Buca De Beppo. A fine chain eatery. While riding back down the open aired bus (provided the  studio) The crowd notices a small group of white folks walking uphill, while we proceed down the treacherous road..

A girl cat calls out: "Hey! Are you Adrian Paul of Breaking BAD!?"

The shortest guy there, sheepishly rubs his neck."No.I'm E from Entourage." Our contact was drunk, so he almost doesn't notice, the people taking pictures of him and his ugly daughter, around three. He does notice: a tall, booted blond, who looks like Charize Theron. She smiles,as he notices her-from the feet up to her long legs.

The recently FAILED sit-com hack (Friends with Better Lives) gets hateful and jealousy,as he recognizes his prey from before. E waves, at some of the crowd taking picture. He locks eyes with our contact (while never moving his head for photo) and says "I know you're still a faggot", over a evil, crooked smile.

Our contact burns with anger of the untrue, comment. Luckily, Semi-Charlize leans toward his eye line,as taunted man bus passes by and said "I DON'T feel the same,"
