SAG-AFTRA REACHES DEAL W/ VIDEO GAME INDUSTRY!

id:image001.jpg@01D3361E.6847A180

Dear Member,

We have great news. Our negotiating committee has reached an agreement to end the strike against 11 video game companies that has been ongoing since October 21, 2016. Accordingly, you are free to resume working for the companies that were struck on all titles effective immediately.

I want to acknowledge the incredible work of the SAG-AFTRA Interactive Negotiating Committee, chaired by Keythe Farley. Their commitment to reflecting the concerns and the voices of the member community is embodied in this agreement.

The terms of the tentative agreement, which was reached early Saturday morning, resolved two points of contention we had with the employers: transparency and secondary compensation.

First, it instituted a new bonus structure that provides an additional payment to performers beyond their session fee. The newly-bargained terms also include significant improvements in the area of transparency.

This expanded information will empower performers and their representatives to bargain knowledgeably for compensation and to understand the nature of the performance that will be required, both of which have been a challenge for our members in an environment characterized by code names and secrecy.

The National Board will vote on the contract at its October meeting. The new terms take effect upon ratification.

In the meantime, members are free to provide covered services pursuant to the expired terms of the prior Interactive Media Agreement with the struck companies effective immediately.

Strength in unity,

Gabrielle Carteris

INSIDE CBS SOURCE STATES- THE NETWORK WILL HIRE SHEEN BACK, AT ALL COSTS

RadarOnline.com reported exclusively, that a "top exec at the Eye network is ready, willing, and able to forgive and forget all of Sheen's recent antics and continue broadcasting the series, with Sheen back in the starring role."

CBS President and CEO Les Moonves is acting as a agent between Sheen's reps, Abused producer Chuck Lorre and WB TV-Network Division, about the Sheen firing.

"Moonves wants a solution that brings Sheen back to the show" in a such a way that everyone can co-exist about. The CBS CEO told Lorre to "let us handle Charlie!"

The source continued:"Moonves wants to get the show back on the air. He's
all for it. He says certain people need to forget anything and
everything Charlie's done recently and just move on with the business
at hand."

Moonves believe once you get the soft-spoken producer and the hot-head prick actor together, "that cooler heads will prevail" and everyone can get back to work, while Sheen potentially dies, because of his drug addiction.

CBS is trying to head off the $100 million lawsuit, against themselves, Lorre and Warner Bros.TV, when Sheen may have corrected deduced- breach of contract status, for them cancelling the season early for Charlie.

Universal Music Group (UMG) Enters into Long-Term Agreement with 19 Entertainment For 'American Idol'

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- 19 Entertainment and Simon Fuller, creator of 'American Idol,' television's biggest entertainment program for the last nine seasons and one of the most globally recognized entertainment brands, and Universal Music Group (UMG), the world's leading music company, today announced a long-term strategic alliance to increase the development, distribution and marketing of 'American Idol's' musical artists. The announcement was made today by Doug Morris, Chairman & Co-Chief Executive Officer of UMG, Lucian Grainge, Co-Chief Executive Officer of UMG, and by Simon Fuller on behalf of 19 Entertainment.

As part of this multi-year agreement, UMG's Interscope Geffen A&M will market, promote and distribute albums globally from 'American Idol's' finalists and winning contestants across a broad array of retail and new media platforms. Recently, 'American Idol' kicked-off auditions for its milestone 10th season as the excitement and renewed interest in the show resulted in over 26,000 hopefuls coming out for their shot at the coveted Idol crown in Nashville and Milwaukee. Upcoming auditions will be held in Louisiana, Texas, New Jersey and California.

Mr. Fuller comments: "With Idol celebrating our 10th season I wanted to inject some new power and weight behind our brand. We have been quietly delivering hits relentlessly for 9 seasons and Lucian Grainge and Jimmy Iovine's (Chairman, Interscope Geffen A&M) ambition, commitment, and determination to push the boundaries and go even further with Idol was very compelling. It is exciting to have the world's biggest show partnered with the world's biggest music company."

"We like delivering hits and new artists," stated Mr. Grainge. "UMG and 'American Idol' is the right combination at the right time. Pairing the renowned expertise of Simon and Jimmy in developing and marketing musical talent creates a truly winning combination that will allow 'Idol's' artists to realize their fullest potential."

Since its debut in 2001, 'America Idol' has been responsible for selling more music than any other TV show in history, with over 100 million units in North America alone and over 120 million songs on iTunes.

Later.
