CELEBRITY Q AND A:RICK HOFFMAN FROM USA'S SUITS-EXCLUSIVE!
Several years ago, I was walking near the, Universal Studios Studio Store on the lot. Hoffman, wearing his trademark black suit and Satan red tie walks-by me. I stop, turn and say "Excuse me, Are you the guy from Cellular?" He also played a fey,mean-as-a-snake lawyer in that flick, as well.
Rick Hoffman (smug, but pleased smile): "Yeah. That's me."
I go to shake his hand. When he returns to the favor, (Honest to God) he goes in does- a early 80s, ultra Black handshake with me. I felt trapped in an episode of Different Strokes or something. Afterwards, we finish with a modern Fist bump complete with daps. He looked so proud of himself.
I'm not sure whether: to be offended or impressed he knew Black handshakes, better than me. So I tell him, "Great to meet you man" and he responds "Yeah, Me too." Apparently, the handshaking took a lot out of him- as he appears to be breathing heavily, as we turn to go our separate ways.

TOM SIZEMORE IS BACK AS AN AA MENTOR....IN NEW MOVIE.
HOLLYWOOD, Ca- Across the vast landscape of roles, Tom Sizemore has taken on (Saving Private Ryan, Natural Born Killers), his newest is perhaps all the more interesting, and one that audiences will recognize as hitting close to home. In the upcoming Psychological Mystery-thriller PRIVATE NUMBER, Sizemore plays Jeff, an Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor to novelist and recovering drinker Michael Lane (Hal Ozsan, 90210), whose sobriety, not surprisingly, seems only dubiously in-check. The film also stars Judd Nelson (The Breakfast Club, St. Elmo's Fire) as Sheriff G. Stance, and Nicholle Tom (Masters of Sex, The Nanny) as Michael's passionate, troubled wife, Katherine.
PRIVATE NUMBER winds itself around a series of frightening, cryptic phone messages and gruesome visions haunting writer Michael Lane, who is struggling to finish his second novel. As the phone calls intensify, Michael loses his hold on reality, obsessing over an unsolved mystery that leads to horrific revelations neither he, nor his devoted wife, can escape.
PRIVATE NUMBER is written and directed by LazRael Lison, and produced by Tatiana Chekhova and Travis Huff, for Summer House Pictures.
Casting Sizemore as an AA sponsor was a dream come true because of the actor's own well-documented struggles with substance abuse, which sidelined his career and filled the pages of his 2013 memoir, By Some Miracle I Made it Out of Here. His sobriety the past few years and resurgence in film and TV (The Red Road) added a layer of honesty and authentic inspiration to his character Jeff in PRIVATE NUMBER, says director Lison. As the film digs deeper into dark, disturbing corners, Sizemore's scenes are sobering for their rich, spare effect.
PRIVATE NUMBER is 100% complete and Rights Worldwide are currently available. The Premiere Screening will be held on Thursday, July 17th at Laemmle's Music Hall Beverly Hills.
