STEPHEN COLBERT GIVES BACK THE AMERICAN DREAM,AS ICE CREAM.

My, how time flies. Just a year ago there was much hype and anticipation about the newest late night successor. The focus was that the American public was going to meet someone who they'd seen for a long time, but barely knew. The entertainer who has won the top recognition in his industry (including Emmy, Peabody, Grammy awards and more) brought something to The Late Show that hadn't been seen much on television previously: the real Stephen Colbert.
Throughout the year while the program has featured Hollywood's A list actors and musicians, and its own infectious and insanely talented band in Jon Batiste and Stay Human, it has certainly hit its stride around the hottest topic du jour: politics especially skewering the presidential campaign and all its players. Critically acclaimed, heady, funny, with candid interviews of top politicos like Hilary ClintonDonald TrumpTim Kaine and who could forget the riveting exchange with Joe Biden, a spoof of the Hunger Games picking off presidential candidates as they fell one-by-one, and of course holding the top party candidates squarely in the comedy crosshairs on a nightly basis have demonstrated what The Late Show does best. Live shows following the Republican National Convention and Democratic National Convention captured Colbert and his penchant to poke fun at our political process and the leaders clamoring for those positions.
And what does the man himself think of his first year?  "I scream, you scream, we all scream for the one-year birthday of the Late Show," said Colbert from his office in the Ed Sullivan Theater. "And I'm glad we get to celebrate this momentous occasion with Ben and/or Jerry."
Celebrating the September 8 anniversary, Ben & Jerry's unveils a brand new look for Colbert's Americone Dream ice cream flavor. The fan favorite flavor introduced in 2007 continues to gain ground ranked among the best-selling flavors. Both the entertainer and his sugary charlatan have staying power. With its new look inspired by artwork from The Late Show artist Tim Luecke, featuring a friendlier Colbert, a marquee, and the New York city skyline – the new look gets up to date and personal acknowledging Colbert's ascension. As one of the best selling flavors in New York City, Americone Dream will be featured on billboards from Brooklyn to the Bronxshowing off the new look. On the September 8 anniversary, Ben & Jerry's is taking pints of Americone Dream to The Late Show fans on the streets of New York City to with the @ColbertLateShow team.
Watch CBS's The Late Show at 11:35 pm. Check your local listing.

CBS CONTINUES TO MAKE TOO MUCH DAMN MONEY.

From PR Newswire

"CBS's strategy of producing and distributing industry-leading content around the world and across multiple platforms continues to pay off," said Sumner Redstone, Executive Chairman, CBS Corporation. "Our programming gets stronger every year, and our financial performance grows more and more robust. I am proud of the efforts of Leslie and his team, and I am certain CBS will continue to be a powerhouse throughout this year and beyond."

"2011 was a record year for CBS, and we're confident 2012 will be even better," said Leslie Moonves, President and Chief Executive Officer, CBS Corporation. "In the fourth quarter, margins continued to expand, and EPS continued to grow. And we've recently taken strategic steps to accelerate our growth in what we see as an improving marketplace. We've reached another key retransmission agreement, and we've extended our NFL contract well into the future. In addition, the performance of the CBS Television Network in the first half of this season was the industry's best in decades. Plus, as the election season progresses and the automotive rebound continues, our local businesses will continue to improve. What's particularly exciting, however, is our ability to capitalize on the fundamental changes in our business model, meaning that the ways we get paid for our content are becoming more lucrative all the time. As our momentum builds and our revenue mix becomes more steady and recurring, we are positioned to enhance margins, drive earnings, and return significant value to our shareholders for many years to come."

Revenues were $3.78 billion for the fourth quarter of 2011 compared with $3.90 billion for the fourth quarter of 2010, which included the second-cycle syndication sale of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and significant political advertising. Revenues in 2011 benefited from the Company's new digital streaming agreements and higher affiliate and subscription fees, including retransmission revenues.

Full year 2011 revenues of $14.25 billion increased 1% from the prior year, led by growth in higher-margin revenues, including a 6% rise in content licensing and distribution revenues, which were driven by new digital streaming agreements; a 9% increase in affiliate and subscription fee revenues; and growth in underlying advertising revenues. Comparability of revenues for 2011 was affected by the benefits to 2010 from CBS Television Network's broadcast of Super Bowl XLIV and significant political advertising revenues for midterm elections, as well as the new programming agreement for the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship ("NCAA Tournament"), which resulted in lower revenues but higher profits for 2011.

INSIDE CBS SOURCE STATES- THE NETWORK WILL HIRE SHEEN BACK, AT ALL COSTS

RadarOnline.com reported exclusively, that a "top exec at the Eye network is ready, willing, and able to forgive and forget all of Sheen's recent antics and continue broadcasting the series, with Sheen back in the starring role."

CBS President and CEO Les Moonves is acting as a agent between Sheen's reps, Abused producer Chuck Lorre and WB TV-Network Division, about the Sheen firing.

"Moonves wants a solution that brings Sheen back to the show" in a such a way that everyone can co-exist about. The CBS CEO told Lorre to "let us handle Charlie!"

The source continued:"Moonves wants to get the show back on the air. He's
all for it. He says certain people need to forget anything and
everything Charlie's done recently and just move on with the business
at hand."

Moonves believe once you get the soft-spoken producer and the hot-head prick actor together, "that cooler heads will prevail" and everyone can get back to work, while Sheen potentially dies, because of his drug addiction.

CBS is trying to head off the $100 million lawsuit, against themselves, Lorre and Warner Bros.TV, when Sheen may have corrected deduced- breach of contract status, for them cancelling the season early for Charlie.

NPH CALLED FAMED SOAP ACTOR "A D-BAG!"

Eric Braeden, 69, the CBS soap actor "canceled a cameo appearance" on How I met Your Mother, causing Barney to awesomely refer to him as used condom.

"The actor, (Robin's dad), agreed to a cameo, then last night bailed,
saying the part wasn't 'substantial' enough," NPH said through his twitter account, "to more than 1 million followers. We've recast with Ray Wise, a
fantastic actor who makes any part 'substantial.' Super excited to
welcome him to the family!"

However Braeden stated, he left abruptly when he found out his part had been cut "just before the taping, which he deemed unreasonable as he is currently recovering
from hip surgery."

He was so exhausted from recovery that, "I was not about appear on a show for two lines, because that's what it amounted to." Braeden whent so far as to call the openly gay acTOR was being "overdramatic."

"His choice of words bothered me. It seems to me like a young
whippersnapper, having seen himself on a few covers, who's received a
few awards, is now suddenly suffering from the first signs of hubris,"
Braeden explained.

After Harris was briefed on Braeden's recent surgery, he maned up and apologized
via Twitter, to end the feud before futher escalatation.

"Now I feel bad for the D-bag comment. Don't know the guy personally,"
Harris typed. "I'm just fiercely protective of our show."
